It was a beautiful sunny day after the recent rains, so I set off with my journalist cap on to cover an auction day with Andalucian Auctions in Campillos Industrial estate. The Auctions start at 3p.m. so we turned up an hour into the event to take some pics and get a feel for the event. The first thing that hits you is how many items they manage to fit into the warehouse. A wealth of beds, dressers TV’s, tables and chairs, units all stacked high with other auctionable goodies a veritable Aladdin’s cave . Within 10 minutes of being there and seeing the price of some items which were going so cheap - a chintz 3 seater sofa for €10.00, 2 beautiful wall units for only €45.00 the bidding bug had bit me. I had to get my hands on a bargain, I registered and had my bidding card nº and had my eyes on a T.V. (biggest CRT Sony ever made) snapped that up for a mere €103, my good lady then started bidding on a antique crystal decanter set we picked up for just €12 and the bargains kept coming. Luckily my father was on hand to point out we only had a kangoo and not an articulated lorry. So we ducked out for a beer round the corner and came back at 6pm to pay, fortunately Andalucian Auctions accept credit cards as I didn’t have enough cash. Michael of A.Auctions was on hand to lift the 200kg T.V. into the back of the van where it remained for 24 hours until we hand enough help to get it out the other end. So I can say hand on heart, if you’ve got something to sell, or need anything for your home or just love a bargain then Andalucian Auctions are the people to go and see.
