Thursday is market day which is held in the Feria Grounds, while on twelveand the thirteenth May they hold the Festival of San Isidro. The streets are decorated with flowers and filled with handicrafts and there is a parade with floats in which the image of the patron saint is drawn through the streets by oxen. There is also a chance to savour the local food. Later in May twentythird to twentyseventh, they hold the Alhaurin Feria with animals, stalls and a variety of activities which take place in the historic centre and in the Antonio Solano Park. Neighbours welcome visitors with a plate of tripe and, naturally, there is a giant paella to taste.On the Night of San Juan, twentyfourth May, under the pines of Arroya del Pinar, they hold a Feria where you will see horses and taste typical country food. COINIn Coin, the month of May is dedicated to oranges which grow in abundance in this area. On fifteenth and sixteenth May they have a Festival of Oranges in the Park of San Augustine where you will find exhibitions, stalls, typical food and crafts of the Guadalhorce region. It is a chance to try all kinds of orange-based dishes, such as the famous soup Hervia, juice and salads. They hold a Dessert Competition too where the base ingredient is. of course, oranges.
