
Here you will find 24 beaches, from small, quiet coves to the busier, tourist ones. La Cala is popular with the locals and is among the best. It is very long, has a nice promenade, good beach bars and restaurants and watersports. It has unbelievably good facilities for the disabled. If you want to get away from crowds, then head for Los Boliches near Fuengirola. Marbesa Beach, off the N340 at Las Chapas, is a narrow, well-equipped stretch of sand and has parking. This village also has its own beach, Playa del Pinillo. El Faro de Calaburras is a long sandy beach with rock faces, beach bars and sunbeds for hire. It´s popular with fishermen. El Charcón is a quiet stretch of sand and is somewhere to relax, soak up the sun and swim. Calahonda Beach is the longest and has a good choice of lively beach bars. It is perfect for families and caters for sunbathers, scuba divers and fishermen. Between Calahonda and La Cala is the rocky beach of El Cabo Rocosco overlooked by an ancient watchtower. You can hire beach beds and buy snacks at a kiosk. With rocks at the water´s edge, it is good for snorkelling and surfing.
