Royal British Legion Coin The Coin Branch of the Royal British Legion held their own special version of the ‘The Weakest Link’ to entertain attendees of their Social Meeting last Wednesday (19th March). The event, supported by approximately 70 members, was organised and humorously compered by the Social Committee Chair, Denise Walker aka Anne Robinson, who also scripted the hilarious pre voting jibes. ‘Anne’ was appropriately dressed in black and adopted an aptly stern persona. Nine ‘contestants’ answered a range of questions posed by the resident branch quiz-master Bob Felgate. After some very dodgy voting irregularities and antics, which drew in the audience who cheered and booed their favourites, the eventual worthy winner was Jim McMillan. He was awarded his ‘Weakest Link’ trophy by Branch Chairman, Jo Taylor, and also received a gift of boxed wine for his efforts. It is hoped that the highly prized trophy will be fought for in a repeat episode next year. The Coin Branch meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month 11.00am at the Hotel El Palomar, Urbanization Miraville, Los Llanos de Coin. For information see the website at www.coinrbl.info or contact Jo 952 451 671 or Den 952 453 829 Welfare number 672 025 756. Non-members most welcome. Please remember that you do not have to be ex-service personnel to come along and join in.
