Hyundai taps into water fueled concept car
Nicolas Stone, a recent graduate of the College for Creative Studies, has created his vision of the city car of the future and Hyundai is financially supporting the project.
The body of the car consists of transparent solar panels. Electricity created is then fed into a water tank to split the hydrogen from the oxygen. Hydrogen is then stored and used to power the vehicle, while pure oxygen is a by-product emitted from the exhaust
As a part of his design project, Nicolas created a four-seater city car of the future. According to Nicolas, the whole body of the car consists of transparent solar panels which create electricity. The electricity is then fed into a water tank to split the hydrogen from the oxygen. The hydrogen is stored and used to power the vehicle while the pure oxygen comes out of the exhaust.
The idea of going for an afternoon drive to El Chorro lakes, fill up the tank and then sunbathing for a few hours to recharge the batteries sounds superb but whether we will ever see this rolled out for large scale use remains to be seen.
