It’s always nice to find a friendly restaurant which serves great food opening up on your doorstep. The Sunflower Restaurant in Pruna, just four kilometers outside Olvera, opened up about four months ago, to the delight of the locals who are returning again and again. The cheerful decoration and lights and the varied menu of home-cooked international cuisine, which changes weekly, all draw the customers back whether it’s for a special celebration or a fish and chip supper. With his vast experience in catering, having run restaurants and hotels in Britain, Andy provides freshly cooked food for all tastes. He can cater for large parties and for any special dietary needs. On the menu are delights such as Home-Made Sausages, Curries and Italian and Spanish specialities. They serve a traditional Sunday lunch and a Menu Del Dia as well as tapas.‘We are taking bookings for a special Christmas Dinner of 5 courses plus wine for 30 euros,’ said Linda, ‘followed by an afternoon quiz. We also have a Quiz Night on Wednesdays and an Open Box Rollover.’The Sunflower Restaurant is open six days a week (closed on Mondays) for lunch from 1-4, and dinner from 8 ‘til late, except for Fridays when they open at 7.30pm for the Fish and Chip Supper. Visit the Sunflower Restaurant for a great meal, and enjoy a selection of wines, Guinness, Cider or John Smith Beer and you’ll soon find that you, too, have become one of the regulars.
