Pedros back in town Print E-mail
Written by Elizabeth Partridge

After twenty-nine years in Scotland, Head Chef Pedro is back in Antequera in his own bar and restaurant, Torre Hacho. With its great corner location on Calle Urb Torre Hacho, near the Antequera Golf Hotel, it’s perfect for the summer months when Pedro hopes his terraces will be filled with customers eager for his barbeques.
Pedro was Head Chef in Edinburgh, then, made the headlines in a local newspaper when a reporter visited his bar and restaurant, La Casa de Pedro, near St. Andrews. Pedro said that , at first, it was difficult to find ingredients for his Spanish cooking but that now it is really easy as all the supermarkets stock them. With his charming Scottish accent, Pedro showed us around the Torre Hacho, the dining room and bar, the side and front terraces and the back terrace with his grill. He explained how he cooks International Cuisine, from Stuffed Mushrooms, delicious Home-made Pate to an amazing Argentinian Grill. There’s a range of fish and chicken dishes, paella of course, and a good selection of pasta dishes.
Pedro is particularly proud of his grilled meats which are proving to be popular in the evenings. There’s also a Menu del Dia for only 7 euros, which local workers enjoy, and Sunday Roast Beef, Pork and Lamb. As for the bar, they serve raciones to accompany your drink.
The Torre Hacho is open from 11am to 4pm then from 8 ‘til late, often until 1 or 2am. Happy to be back in the sunshine of Spain, Pedro welcomes all to his friendly bar & restaurant.
