Under new management and stylishly remodeled, Oscars On The Square, in Fuente de Piedra, held their super Opening Night on Wednesday 28th March.

Paul and Allyson, with 15 years experience in catering in the UK have come up with a great new concept. Their aim is to provide very good, high quality English food at very reasonable prices. They offer Home-made Fish Pie in Cream Sauce, Lamb Shanks, Roast Beef, locally produced sausages, Steak and Ale Pies and Horseshoe Gammon, for example, all at excellent prices.

There is also a lunchtime menu, a complete range, including baguettes and they serve afternoon teas, a Cream Tea for 2.95 euros, teacakes and scones. Allyson is the chef and wherever they possibly can, the food is homemade with fresh ingredients from the local butcher and fishmonger.

The place is very stylish and beautifully laid out, with little water features, so don’t make the mistake, when you walk in for the first time, of thinking that the prices will be as ‘stylish’! Here, you will find exactly what you like beautifully cooked and a great price. And, if that were not enough, the restaurant is ‘kiddie friendly’ which means they will provide small portions of anything your children choose as well as offering a range of all time favourites.

Oscars On The Square are open all day from 12 noon till late on Tuesdays to Sundays (closed Mondays) and on Friday at 10am so, if you go shopping at the market, you can pop in for a coffee or something when you’ve finished. Perfect. How nice to find a place that opens all afternoon too!

Another great idea is the screening off, with foliage, of the bar from the restaurant. The bar is now newly designed as a separate and welcome place to pop in for a drink, more comfortable than sitting watching people eat.
