Recently opened in the small village of Solerche is a wonderful storehouse of Moroccan delights set in an old converted olive mill.

Following a four day holiday in Fes, Morocco, experiencing the delights of a typical Riad and the hustle and bustle of the souks with their bartering and bargains, Stefan and Pepi returned to their converted olive mill in Solerche and sat down with their friends Mark and Wendy and mulled over the idea of starting a business selling Moroccan goods. Having tried, like many local people, to purchase Moroccan furniture, carpets and bric-a-brac, they found it necessary to travel as far afield as Malaga, Granada and Cordoba, often wasting hours locating the shop or market, they thought they had clear directions to, returning empty handed.

So the seed was sown and another trip to Morocco with a large van was executed piling it high with tables, chairs, pouffes, fountains, lamps, lanterns and carpets and so the Moroccan Warehouse was born.

They are specialists in Moroccan coloured plasterwork which is suitable for bathrooms and kitchens and have some beautiful copper washhand basins. They can also organise made-to-order items such as mosaic floor tiles and specially designed mosaic tables.

Solerche is on the edge of the Subbetica and close to Iznajar so, if you have been out enjoying the beach at Iznajar Lake or cycling through the hills, don’t miss a visit to this delightful place where you will find a wealth of Moroccan goods all under one roof.

Products from their catalogue can be viewed and ordered on-line at www.morocco-marruecos.com.

The Moroccan Warehouse is situated at Solerche, about 6 km from Iznajar towards Rute. Look for the big green gate leading to the olive mill. For further information
