Under new management, with its new interior design and refurbished rooms, the Hotel Saydo re-opened its doors on January 3rd after a short period of closure to finalise these exciting changes. The business partnership of Liz and Don, experienced in restaurant and bar management, aim to provide a welcoming place for all with something for everybody.

The hotel itself is a labyrinth of rooms, a delightful mix of old and new, with decorative tiling, cloister-like balconies and covered terraces, all centred around a charming inner courtyard with fountain and prettily-tiled floor. The new restaurant, formed from two rooms now opens onto this lovely feature, no doubt attracting many visitors not only for the full Spanish and English menu, but also for the ambience. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served there as well as special menus for theme nights such as Curry, Fish and Chips, Pie and Mash and special Grills Etc. They also have a full take-away service. Look out for their Special Sunday Carvery!

Meanwhile, the bar now has a non-smoking lounge with comfortable seating and air-conditioning. Another new project is the Sports Lounge with tv, music, pool table and games. The bar itself, staffed always by both English and Spanish speakers, serves snacks, tapas and afternoon tea daily.

The large newly-decorated Function Room, which can seat 240 people, with its own bar and stage, is available for Weddings, Parties, Meetings and Exhibitions. Already regularly used for the Country Farmers Market on Wednesdays, you can now find Quiz Nights, Keep Fit Classes, Bingo on Tuesday and Friday and Line Dancing on Monday and Thursday, with plans for Salsa and Flamenco dancing too.

New projects for the Hotel Saydo are the Sunday Craft/ Car Boot Market and regular Saturday Concerts in the bar and Function Room, where you have a chance to enjoy some great entertainment, comedians, dancers, singers, flamenco….

One of their first major events will be a Valentine’s Dinner and Dance with the option of staying overnight for a romantic break! Meanwhile, coming soon will be a much-needed Internet Café (opening in February) and, in the Spring, a children’s Play Area.

There is an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor pool with leisure area, sunloungers, well-stocked poolside bar and patio. There is also sauna, jacuzzi, tanning tube and a treatment room where you can enjoy a massage, facials, body wraps and more.

Hotel Saydo is open seven days a week, from 8am ‘til midnight, sometimes later. Space and rooms in the hotel complex can be made available for long and /or short periods. Call Liz on 695963052 or Don on 628643096 for further details on hotel accommodation, events and concerts and special weekend breaks.

Whether you are looking for a place for business or pleasure, or a retreat for a romantic weekend break, or a central place to stay on holiday within easy reach of Seville, Granada or the coast, or just a place to enjoy good food and company, to relax with a sauna or enjoy a show, or kick up your heels in a Line Dance, Hotel Saydo is the place to go. You will find excellent, friendly service, a fabulous Spanish atmosphere, superb facilities and a great range of activities to enjoy.
