Hotel Almazara Print E-mail

Many fine hotels in the area open their doors to day visitors and one of these is the lovely Hotel Almazara. Formerly an olive factory, it is now a exquisite, but affordable, hotel, set in the beautiful hills above Rio Frio. It’s easy to reach too, just two kilometers from the A92.
This is a place where you can enjoy an excellent meal, at a great price, in the charming restaurant,

choosing from a range of meat, fish and pasta dishes – Trout Filled with Spanish Ham and Almond Sauce with Vegetables, Oven Baked Sea Bass over Spinach or Lamb Shoulder, Veal or Duck. There are hot and cold starters which include Crispy Goat’s Cheese Salad with Onion Jam and wonderful desserts such as Nougat Mousse with Chantilly. The most popular dish is the Sturgeon and the caviar is reputed to be the best in the world. The restaurant is open from 1 to 4 for lunch and from 8 to 10.30 for dinner.
You could also choose to lunch on the terrace, overlooking the gorgeous pool, with great views of the countryside, where tapas and raciones are served.
Meanwhile, if you visit for the day, it isn’t only the restaurant which is open to you. You may swim, take a dip in the Jacuzzi, play volleyball, table tennis, petanque or go cycling. It’s a beautiful place for walking too.
As for hotel guests, they will find spacious, elegant rooms with satellite tv, a minibar, safe, AC and luxurious bathrooms with colourful towels. There are 32 rooms and they have a special offer on standard rooms in the high season – 90E per night for three nights; 85E per night for 5 nights; 80E per night for 7 nights, prices are per couple. This includes breakfast which may be a buffet or a continental-style breakfast. There are also plans for ten more bedrooms.
As a guest, you have the choice of all the above activities including fishing in the local trout streams (the hotel can help with licences). Hotel Almazara is in a great location for touring the area, visiting Granada (the hotel can arrange tickets for the Alhambra), Cordoba and The Sierras.
The friendly staff are also happy to help with celebrations, such as birthdays, anniversaries as well as weddings. Just ask!
Whether you’re a guest, or a day visitor (who will undoubtedly want to stay there one day), your visit will be a memorable one. Why not pop in and see for yourself, and don’t forget to take your swimming costume!
